What to Watch on Netflix Besides Valentine-Themed Movies
If you have a date with your couch tonight, there will be some hidden gems waiting on Netflix that you've probably been meaning to watch. And you won't have to get Valentine-mushy unless you want to.
If you haven't seen it, your friends probably have. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of those movies that just keeps producing one-liners and zingers, and the cult following has kept it relevant for more than forty years. It's high time to see it! It's a satire that's been out since 1975, and Netflix describes it this way: "The Monty Python comedy clan skewers King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they quest far and wide for the Holy Grail." It's different, and definitely not Valentine-mushy.
Black Panther ruled the theater for weeks, and it's on Netflix now. Valentine's Day is supposed to make us feel good, and this story of the "superpowered new leader of the hidden, highly advanced African nation of Wakanda" can definitely pump some energy into our date nights.
And now another movie that has major longevity and a huge cult following. The Breakfast Club made Molly Ringwald and her detention friends famous, and Collider.com calls it one of the most "rewatchable" movies ever. This would be perfect for a Galentine's party with wine and hummus.
Anyone named Clarice has had this perfectly good name ruined by Silence of the Lambs. Ain't no babies being named Clarice! The way Anthony Hopkins says it is just way too creepy. Jodie Foster is the FBI trainee named Clarice who ventures into a maximum-security asylum get inside the mind of Hannibal Lecter. It won five Oscars.
Collider has some other ideas too, like The Truman Show, The Indiana Jones Trilogy, Hercules, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. All of those are on Netflix now.
Whether you're single like me and curling up with three kids and two dogs tonight, or you've got a hot date, knowing what other people are watching might save you some browsing time. And now we've got some movies to add to the list for the weekend too. Happy Valentine's Day.
