Weather Alert Issued As Snow Hits Idaho This Weekend
A winter storm is headed to the Gem State. Ready or not, the snow is coming. Here's what to expect.
We should be okay here in the Treasure Valley. If you are running in the St. Luke's Fit One race tomorrow expect it to be cold, but rain shouldn't hit until the afternoon hours.
Where you need to use some caution is if you plan on traveling to the Idaho Falls area. Several rounds of freezing rain and snowfall are predicted throughout the region over the weekend. A dusting is expected in the valley, but up to 4 inches can be expected in higher elevations according to a report on eastidahonews.com. Conditions are expected to worsen as you get closer to the Montana border. Mountain passes along the border are predicted to get 3-9 inches of snow.
The Ketchum and Sun Valley area is also expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow in the valley.
Tomorrow in the Treasure Valley it will be cloudy and 45 around race time and then expect to see that rain in the afternoon.
