The COVID-19 vaccine continues to be distributed around the Treasure Valley. We have a rollout plan and it seems to be going okay despite some issues in the beginning. I know we had spots filling up quickly that other recipients couldn't find a slot.

That seems to have settled in as ages 65 years of age and older were moved up that list. There is however a new variant that has caused concern and the push for vaccines has escalated. Walmart is joining as a vaccination location beginning this week.

Walmart announced today that locations in Idaho will be administering the Pfizer vaccine on Friday during a nationwide COVID-19 Vaccine clinic. I'm going to post the links to sign-up because you will need to get on the list based on eligibility.

Make sure you understand when it's available to your family. Things depend on age and whether or not you might be an essential worker. There is a list and I know that it could be May before I get vaccinated. That being said we keep hearing that more vaccines are being approved and the goal is to get them to people. There is some concern about this coronavirus variant that has far more serious issues that could impact us.

Does it cost? No. The federal government is providing vaccines at no cost to Idahoans.

What do I need? Pharmacy and medical health care insurance cards if they are different. I guess there could be administering fees but I haven't spoken to anyone that had to pay for that.

Just yesterday we learned about new regulations that require you to be employed and a resident of Idaho. Make sure you know everything you need and sign-up. I hope that helps.
