Two Boise Pizza Joints Get Fancy for the Big Game
Pizza is one of the top foods we'll wolf down during the Big Game this Sunday. And two Treasure Valley pizza restaurants are adding new menu options to make it even harder to resist.
Llittle Ceasar's has found a way to pack more delicious fat into pizza. Bacon-wrapped crust! They offered that for awhile last year, and it's back again this year for eight weeks. It's a big, deep dish pepperoni pizza, and the crust is wrapped in three and a half feet of bacon. TIME Magazine says there are bacon crumbles on top too so you get bacon in every bite. 410 calories per slice if you're wondering.
Pizza and bacon are among the top foods to eat during the Big Game, so why not combine them. Did you know cream cheese is one of the top football foods too? It's in everything! Except pizza.
Pizza Hut is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Big Game, and will deliver 50 special Stuffed Garlic Knots Pizzas around the country. You might order a plain cheese pizza, and get a special gold garlicy edition instead, topped with $100 worth of edible 24-karat gold. Would you share?
Pizza sales go up by 80 to 90 percent during the Big Game, and restaurants are trying to capitalize. If you're going to order, do it early on Sunday so it's there by kickoff. That's at 4:30pm Sunday on CBS.
