Forget About TikTok, Should Idaho Ban This Social Platform Instead?
Just when we thought we had enough “social” in our hands, here comes another social media platform from the mind of Mark Zuckerberg.
Yes, that Mark.
The Meta CEO (or “Facebook CEO” if that’s still a thing) has the world in a frenzy following the launch of his new app called Threads. According to Zucks, the app supposedly had “tens of millions” of signups within the first few hours of launch.
“Wow, 30 million sign-ups as of this morning. Feels like the beginning of something special, but we've got a lot of work ahead to build out the app,” Mark wrote on… you guessed it: Threads.
Is This Good For Idaho?
Remember when people were calling for the ban of TikTok in Idaho? Many felt the app was data-mining sensitive personal info among several other privacy issues. Why shouldn’t we expect the same from a new app launched early?
For now, it seems Threads is all of the rage and something that people are really excited about… well, everyone except Elon Musk, who owns Twitter. As this article is being written, ABC News reported that Twitter is sending a cease-and-desist letter to Threads.
Does this mean the rumors of Elon and Mark facing off in a cage match will become a reality? Only time will tell. For now, the two seem set to duke it out through their respective social media platforms.
Would you be opposed to banning another social media platform? Especially one that mimics one that we already have?
