Teens Plan a “Purge” Event that Ends in Several Arrests
Have you heard or seen any of the movies in "The Purge" series? It’s a series of horror films about a future America where every year there is a 12-hour period where crime is legal. Veeeery creepy!
The Coeur d’Alene Police Department said six teenage boys tried to plan a “purge” event to scare people the night before Halloween.
They said six males wearing dark clothes and face masks and carrying weapons were harassing people in the parking structure and parking lot of the library.
When police showed up, all six ran away. Three of them were found near a pavilion, and two others ran off to hide.
When they were interviewed by police they talked about planning a “purge” event to scare people. They brought several weapons with them like a golf club, an ax, a baseball bat and a sword. One of them even painted “purge” in red paint on two concrete walls nearby.
They were arrested and charged with different crimes including aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, and obstructing a police officer.
