Speed Reduced on I-84 in Nampa for Construction
We all know there are lots of different construction projects going on across our whole state of Idaho, but all Nampa residents or those who travel through Nampa on I-84 are going to need to know about the change in the speed limit that begins today.
The Idaho Transportation Department announced that a full-time speed reduction will be in effect between the Karcher/Midland and Franklin Blvd interchanges.
Instead of the normal 65 MPH speed limit, the new speed limit will stop drivers at 55 MPH. The change has everything to do with safety for the crews that are trying to get the construction project done as soon as possible.
There will also be extra Idaho State Police on patrol in that area to make sure everyone is obeying the new speed limit.
No date has been set for when the speed limit will return to 65 MPH on this stretch of I-84, but we will keep you in the know as the project begins to wrap up.
