Idahoans are a proud people and I'm not mad at it. It's almost a competition sometimes to see who is the "most Idaho." Who's lived here the longest? Can you remember certain stores or events that no longer exist? Do you know where the hidden gems are that tourists wish they could visit? Being super local is a badge of honor. But Idahoans don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk. If there's an option to support local versus some big chain, they'll take it. And this weekend there's an event where locals can put their money where their mouth is.

The Saturday, June 5th, is the Experience Idaho Expo. I mean, the name pretty much explains it. From 10am - 5pm you can shop and support local Idaho products, services, and businesses while enjoying live music and drinking beer. There will also be outdoor recreational activities including a rock climbing wall and axe-throwing which is so Idaho, am I right?

Admission is free, that way you can spend your coins supporting specific businesses that make Idaho feel more like home and celebrate what it means to be a true Idahoan. So think along the lines of unique apparel you're not going to find at Target or H&M. Items that are locally sourced so a random in Connecticut have the same thing as you. And let's face it, we like things to be unique to us. It's the Idaho way. And it's honestly just a great way to connect with the neighbors in your community, which is always a good thing.
