One Child Dead and Two Injured in Terrible Accident in Canyon County

A terrible car accident happened late last night at the intersection of Homedale Road and Farmway Road in Canyon County.

Idaho State Police said Manuel Vera Gonzalez of Boise was driving a van when he ran through a stop sign in an intersection and was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

One of the children riding in the van with him died at the scene and two more were taken to St. Alphonsus in Boise. Names and ages of the children have not been released.

The man in the pickup truck that struck the van was wearing a seat belt and wasn’t injured. It's unknown if any of the passengers in the other vehicle were wearing seat belts.

Police are still investigating the crash.
