Old Idaho Penitentiary Brings Back 13 Stories Film Competition And Festival
If you've taken a tour of the Old Idaho Penitentiary, you've heard all the creepy horror stories that go along with it. Not sure why the macabre is so fascinating, but it is. Especially because they're true stories and you're walking through the very rooms and halls they took place. It's a vibe unlike any other, and it sure has the imagination run wild filling in details that have been lost to the past.
The Old Idaho Penitentiary has partnered with i48 for this year's 13 Stories Film Competition returning for its second year. This is your chance to create all those details and spin them into a short film masterpiece. Film makers will have a chance to shoot their movies inspired by true Idaho State Penitentiary stories on location at the Old Idaho Penitentiary.
Registration opens Sunday, March 14th, 2021 at 10:00am online at idaho48.org. It's free and ends April 18th, 2021. Mark your calendars so you don't miss the deadline. All film maker information can be found there. Head to idaho48.org/13-stories. Films will screen September 10th and 11th, 2021 on site and is open to the public with purchase of a ticket. There will be Staff and Audience Choice awards with cash prizes for the winning films. Entertainment, food trucks, and alcohol for the viewers.
It will be interesting to see just how creative film makers can be with stories most Idahoans have heard time and time again. Any film makers reading this, please consider casting me in a role for your film! I have experience and would love to take part. Shameless plug!
