Nampa High Student Hit By Car, Drivers PAY ATTENTION!
Looking at the forecast for the next week it's going to be beautiful here in the Treasure Valley. Looking at nothing but sunshine! Like most people I am excited for the warm temperatures, rolling down the window in my car and turning up my favorite songs while driving. But this is your friendly reminder that all drivers must pay more attention during this time of year.
Our friends at KTVB jumped on a story this morning about a Nampa High School student that was hit by a car this morning while crossing the road in a crosswalk. It took place around 7:40 a.m. at 12th & Colorado Avenue right next to the high school.
Fortunately, the student was conscious when emergency personnel arrived. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The driver of the vehicle has been cooperating with police.
Personally I have seen lots of kids around my neighborhood running into the street in the past week as they are spending more time outside with friends enjoying the warmer temperatures. We all know the driver of this incident would never mean for this to happen. Let's all learn from this mistake and make sure we slow down and pay more attention while we have the nice weather attempting to distract us from the road.
