My husband and I have been dying to try out the Longhorn Steakhouse that just opened on Franklin Road near Boise Towne Square. Our original plan was to go for the Grand Opening last month, but our whole family wound up sick that week and we had to cancel our plans. Last weekend, we finally got around to eating at Longhorn and it was everything we hoped it would be!

When JD and I lived on the East Coast, Longhorn Steakhouse was our go-to place for celebrations. From birthdays to anniversaries and special moments with our son, Jaden, we have so many wonderful memories of meals there.

Longhorn is operated by parent company Darden, which owns many successful restaurant brands including Olive Garden, Yardhouse, and Cheddar's. If you've eaten at a Darden restaurant you know that they all have very different food, but all pride themselves on great service and hospitality. Boise's Longhorn, like the one we used to eat at in South Carolina, is no exception. We were treated so wonderfully by every member of the staff!

For dinner we tried out the Texas Tonion - fried onion petals drizzled with housemade crema and served with a spicy dipping sauce. JD had a steak and salad, I enjoyed a burger, and Cooper, our toddler, loved the kids cheeseburger. Everything was cooked to perfection and so tasty!

If you haven't tried out Longhorn yet, we'd definitely recommend it. You can even get a FREE appetizer on your next visit by signing up for their rewards program HERE!

Listen to The Mix Morning Show with Mike & Nicole next week for your chance to win gift certificates to this brand new Longhorn Steakhouse!
