It's no secret that beginning a move into the Gem State is no inexpensive task. The cost of setting up shop adds up between the rent and those dreaded app fees. One expense that not a lot of people seem to be bringing up, however, is the cost of movers.

Now, I'll be the first to tell you - once upon a time, I didn't care nor did I even think to ever use movers. In my head, it was always "my stuff" and I didn't need any help. Throughout my 20s, I moved from place to place, living on first floors, second floors, third floors, etc. You name it - I refused to get movers.

Now that I'm in my mid-30s? Shoot - bring on all of the movers. There's no chance I even consider moving without them. Having three kiddos that have all played a (fun) part in the deterioration of my back and knees; the thought of moving just hits differently these days.

Unfortunately, like with any service out there, there are both positives and negatives to hiring movers. It can't be all sunshine and rainbows, people! Whether it's feeling like the movers are exploiting the time it takes to move because of an hourly rate or if the movers are just teenagers trying to pay their way through college, here are some of the five most painful moving experiences from right here in Boise.

Do you have a moving nightmare that tops all of these? Let me know here on or on the Mix 106 app using the open mic feature!
