Looking ahead to the warmer months I plan on spending as many days as I can outside. I'm craving sunny days and blue skies where we can all head to the park and enjoy the fresh air. Also, my younger son's birthday is at the end of April and I'm planning to have a little get together at the park in celebration. He is obsessed with slides and every time we drive past a park he lights up and yells for us to notice the slides. I should mention he is three years old.

City of Meridian has opened up reservations for picnic shelters for the 2021 season this month. Running from April 10th through October 17th, reservations can be made online at any time at meridiancity.org under the "Reserve a Park Facility" tab. Or if you have further questions regarding your reservation you can call Meridian Parks and Recreation office at 208-888-3579. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Bear in mind that Covid-19 protocols are still being employed. City of Meridian takes into account local agency orders from the State of Idaho and Central District Health regarding limitations on group gathering sizes and other restrictions pertaining to safety against the coronavirus. If compliance with health and safety measures put in place to protect the community conflicts with your reservation on its specified date, it will be canceled or rescheduled. However, refunds will be issued for such Covid-19 related cancelations.

Make your reservation today before everyone swoops up all the good dates. And let's keep our fingers crossed that the pandemic doesn't throw all these plans into disarray. See you on the swing set!
