Panick ran through the halls of Meridian High School this morning when the school's newly-implemented security badge system triggered warnings this morning just after 10:30 which sent students running for the exits and police along with other authorities dispatched immediately taking every precaution.

According to KTVB, the entire thing was a technology malfunction.  There was absolutely no threat and authorities had the lockdown lifted and school back in session flowing smoothly by 11:15 a.m.

Here's the original message the Meridian Police Department released via Twitter this morning...

No word yet on what exactly the "FAKE" threat was and Meridian High School is currently looking into exactly how things went wrong.

We're just happy there was no incident, the school is prepared in case an incident arises, authorities took quick action, and everyone is safe.
