We all know that lots of construction is going on across the Treasure Valley right now. KIVI was quick to report about even more major construction going on in Nampa this week.

The work will be adding lanes on I-84 from the Karcher/Midland and the Franklin Boulevard exits. The crews will be working on Monday to prepare the work zone, with construction actually set to begin next week (Monday, July 15th).

During this week and next the Idaho Transportation Department will be leaving two lanes of traffic open in both directions during commute times, although they caution that it will be more important than ever to be focused on driving. Paying attention in construction zones are vital to keep everyone safe.

There will be more construction on I-84 west of the Karcher exit, including continuing to replace the Middleton and Ustick bridges, while working to widen I-84 to Franklin Road in Caldwell.

While the construction may seem like a headache now, with the increase in population we have seen it is important to get these projects done.
