Let’s Trade Thanksgiving Day Recipes
This year has flown by! So, it's no surprise that we blinked and Thanksgiving is just over two weeks away! How did that happen??
I like to plan ahead for holiday dinners and when it comes to the menu, I tend to stay on the traditional side. I also seem to always make the same foods each year. Everyone seems to like them and it takes the guess work out of it. But, at the same time, it can get a little boring. So, I want to make some NEW foods on this Turkey Day!
I'll share one of my family's FAVORITE holiday side, if you'll share one of yours with me! Deal?
Here is the yummiest Sweet Potato Casserole EVER!
2 (29 oz) cans Sweet Potatoes
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
Topping
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup butter
6 oz bag of chopped pecans
Melt the 1/3 c. milk and 1/2 c. butter together. In a large mixing bowl, using a mixer, mix together the sweet potatoes, sugar eggs, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add milk and butter mixture and continue mixing until smooth. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish.
Combine all topping ingredients together and put on top of sweet potato mixture. Bake at 350 for approximately 30-35 minutes.
