A ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Snake River gorge's newest overlook platform in southern Idaho has been planned for mid-September. Grab your cameras and get ready to snap some photos of southern Idaho's newest vantage point of the majestic Shoshone Falls.

Full disclosure. I can't do heights. What I do appreciate is the skill that goes into creating a safe platform that gives tourists and locals incredible views of natural landmarks without the concern of plummeting to death from trying to capture these images in an unsafe manner.

Although I still can't get too close to the edge, I have enjoyed these lookout spots in the Magic Valley for years, and am looking forward to seeing the newest one.
