Hey Idaho, There Are Plastic Fragments In Your Tater Tots
Welp, this is inconvenient. Especially if you're hungry.
If you were planning on making some piping hot tater tots for the family tonight for dinner, you may want to reconsider...
...because hard plastic fragments were found in 40,000 cases of frozen tater tots.
We'd like to state for the record that, no, hard plastic fragments do not belong in your tater tots. Go ahead and Google it. You'll soon discover that tots and plastic never, ever, ever go together. Like, ever.
I'm a tot-oholic, what am I supposed to do now?
Suffer, we suppose. However, you're not alone.
McCain Foods USA Inc, who make Ore-Ida and Sysco Imperial Tater Tots, have voluntarily recalled thousands of cases of the food product. Unfortunately, packages were shipped to 26 different states, including Idaho.
If you're concerned that you may have contaminated product in your freezer, you can cross-reference the package here.
Eat tater tots. Don't eat plastic. Have a great day.
P.S. If you believe you actually ingested plastic somehow, contact a healthcare professional or call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.

Oh, you thought this was the only food recall you need to worry about? Girl, please. They're happening all the time!
In fact, 2025 saw a plethora of different food recalls across the country. Here's a more recent occurance:

Plastic in your food? Pretty bad.
Metal in your food? That's more than pretty bad. That's really bad.
So bad, in fact, that it led to a massive recall a few months ago in New York.
