Idaho Police Stop Potentially One Of The Worst Gang Brawls Ever

Unfortunately, it seems like gang activity is becoming more common in the Treasure Valley. One city in particular seems to be on the unfortunate receiving end of this trend.

What's happening in Caldwell?

As KTVB reported this past summer, Canyon County started a task force to combat the uptick in gang activity in and near Caldwell. In July they reported that "Caldwell police arrested two people they said were connected to at least five different gang-related shootings. Those were two of approximately 100 arrests that Caldwell police have made through a new operation that addresses gang-related crimes."

And just recently, Caldwell police had to step in and prevent what could've been one of the worst gang-related incidents in Idaho.

A 20-Man Brawl

Caldwell police shared a post on their Facebook that they prevented what could've been one of the most devastating acts of gang violence in the Caldwell community this week.

According to the post:

That's right - someone in the group had a gun and who knows how much harm that individual could have caused to so many people. The fact that there were 15-20 people involved is enough to be alarming but once you have a firearm in the mix, anything can happen.

We extend a special thanks to our law enforcement and first responders for doing what they can to keep us safe and prevent gang violence.
