The truth is, the smoke that we're seeing is actually to help keep us safe.
Boise Fire Department is on it!
It might seem scary but there are some solid reasons why we're seeing this black smoke over the Treasure Valley - training.
Our firefighters will be training at the Boise airport and the Boise Fire Department says because of that, you could be noticing black smoke east of the airport. If you didn't know that, it's easy to assume the worst, especially with everything that's been happening in the news lately.
But why is the Boise Fire Department training at the airport? Let's look at the top four reasons why the Boise Fire Department is training at the airport this week.

See? There's no reason to be alarmed and if anything, we should be commending our first responders for the training and work they're putting in to keep us all safe.
What's amazing (at least to this author), is that this is just one type of training our firefighters go through. But, becoming a firefighter for Boise is a whole other ball game.
