Lively's picture-perfect start comes to an end.

Blake Lively’s movie tour for 'It Ends With Us' started out like a dream. The red carpet was rolled out, Colleen Hoover fans around the world were ecstatic—everything seemed picture-perfect for the talented and beautiful star.

But that dream quickly transformed into a PR nightmare when Lively's past comments about the transgender community surfaced this week.

The universally beloved actress and wife of Hollywood icon, Ryan Reynolds, was ensconced in controversy over her use of alleged transphobic slurs.

In one quote, pulled from a 2012 Elle magazine interview, Lively playfully spoke about what she hoped her future kids' genders would be.

I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they'd better be t*****. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated. -Lively, Elle magazine

While some found the comment colorful but unoffensive, others perceived it as radically controversial and insensitive—especially many within the LGBTQ+ community.

Diehard fans of hers have come forward on social media saying that the word tr**** wasn't a derogatory term 12 years ago; it was common way to shorten transgender.

Will Idahoans forgive or forget the Hollywood darling?

In the blink of an eye, the spotlight shifted from Lively's highly anticipated film to the star's unintentional insults about transgendered people.

But the wife, mother, actress, and producer has maintained a vibrant Idaho fanbase among millennials since her breakout roles in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Gossip Girl.

Idaho's a state known for its strong values and tight-knit communities. We're also pretty quick to forgive those who seek forgiveness. Because of this, it's possible no love will be lost between Idahoans and Mrs. Reynolds.

On the other hand, the transgender community and its allies are strong in Idaho. It's possible some may feel that supporting Lively would mean turning a blind eye to the pain her statements have caused.

For fans who believe in holding celebrities accountable, this could be a dealbreaker, no matter how much they loved Lively before. Only time will tell.
