Idahoans Asked to Help Red Cross, They Need Blood
The American Red Cross is asking all eligible blood donors to help out right now. They have a new campaign in the month of April teaming up with the hit HBO show Game of Thrones to encourage donations.
We got word from KIVI about the new efforts with extreme emphasis on type O blood. The Red Cross is currently dealing with a severe shortage of type O blood. Blood donors are the only source of products for those needing a transfusion, that's why making the donation of life is so important.
Game of Throne fans that donate then post about it on social media with the hashtag #ForTheThrone, will be entered for a full-size Throne from the show. You can get all the contest information here. All donors between April 11th - 30th have the chance to enter.
If you want to donate (thank you), you can make it happen through the Red Cross Blood Donor app, or click here to visit the Red Cross online. In order for you to donate you will need two forms of identification. You must be 17 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds and in generally good health. You can donate at the American Red Cross Center on Franklin Road or there are lost of blood drives listed below.
