Working in the food and bev industry in college myself, tipping is always something I take seriously. I won't "punish" a server for an issue that wasn't their fault by deducting from their tip and I always make sure the appropriate tip is left, even if there is a discount applied bringing the actual total down.

I was surprised to see that Idaho is actually the number one state in the country when it comes to tipping! I was not surprised, however, to see that Hawaii is the worst state in tipping. With how expensive things are in Hawaii, I feel like it makes sense that people try to skim where they feel like they can.

I generally leave 20% on all services, because I just don't know what the average is these days!

Do you leave a set percentage for tips, or does it vary based on the situation or place? Such as delivery, restaurants, salon or spa services, etc.
