Life happens.

It doesn't matter what you do for a living, if you do or don't have kids, or whether you rent or own: houses get messy because life happens, y'all. The social media influencers and home decor gurus are lying. Laundry, chores, and random clutter piles up around their immaculate homes, too.

Even if they have the most gorgeous, perfectly manicured home in all of Idaho with a cleaning staff at their disposal seven days a week, we'd bet the only twenty we have in our wallet that they've got a junk drawer or a whole-@$$ Monica's closet where they throw their crap.

Because we all do.

Homes are meant to be lived in.

Somewhere along the way some of us forgot it was okay to actually live in our homes. Dirty dishes aren't the devil. If you think they are, don't forget your Crucifix the next you visit our house, because our sinks never stay empty long.

You why that is?

Because we cook! And then, get this, we actually eat the things we cook on dishes we might not get to that night because we're exhausted from work, traffic, kids, carpools, and adulting. Throw in a progress report meeting at the school or a youth sports banquet, and we're not lifting a finger around the house for at least 48 hours.

And that's totally normal.

"Honey, the critters are home."

Sometimes life gets so busy that dust bunnies and spring critters move in.

From ants the show up in your bottom cupboards to earwigs that find their way to the watery milk the kids left in their cereal bowls in the kitchen sinks, home pests visit even the best-kept homes. Other times, critter visits are spurred by things or household habits we're not even aware of.

9 Idaho Animal Parents Who Eat Their Kids

Before you judge the filial cannibals in the gallery below, remember:

> they can't escape their homegrown hellions with a therapeutic trip to Target

> there are no babysitters in the wild

> they can't send them off to school five days a week

> and most, if not all of them, were just lonely, h*rny singles looking for a one-night stand who wound up as single parents

Cut 'em some slack, people 🙄
