Ice Skating Season at the Village at Meridian is Over
The past few weeks have brought unusually warm weather, hitting or coming close to records, and it coincides with the end of ice skating season at the Village at Meridian.
The skating rink, though perhaps not the largest, provides a lot of fun for families, or even a little bonus for the perfect date night during the winter season. It's been fun not just to take my parents and son there, but it provides a great atmosphere to just enjoy the outdoor seating and excitement of the winter season.
Though our weather has been warmer than usual, that isn't actually what drove the closure. Back when the Village announced the season, from the beginning the plan was to make it to January 28th, "weather permitting."
This weekend, I noticed a number of people staring at the melting rink and wishing they had another chance to skate for a few hours. I have to admit, I was right with them. It's really nice to have that option during the winter months, and I will eager look forward to it returning next year.
