Every week, Mike and Nicole recognize people in the Treasure Valley who are behaving great and going out of their way to make our communities a better place to live. It could be something small or something huge, like this story of the 12 year old boy from Caldwell who recently saved the lives of people living in an apartment building that had caught fire.

Omarion Wright was getting ready for school on Halloween morning in the Parkview Apartments when he noticed the smell of smoke. First Omarion woke up his grandmother then he called 911. After calling 911 he ran door to door waking up everyone else in the complex, making sure that everyone got out of the building.  A lot of the residents of Parkview lost everything that day…but they were still alive thanks to Omarion and that is why he is this week’s Mike and Nicole Everyday Hero.

That however is not where the story ends. Mike and Nicole’s Everyday Hero is about paying it forward and that’s where you and I can help.

Omarion and his grandmother Shawna lost everything in the fire But they are alive. They are currently having to live in a hotel, which is expensive. So a GoFundMe page was set up to help Omarion and Shawna get back on their feet and find a new permanent place to live.  The fund is already over $4000.

You can click on the link to donate.

Here is the GoFundMe post description:

“On the morning of October 31st a fire started in the Caldwell, Idaho apartment complex where Shawna & Omarion live. Leaving his belongings behind, Omarion ran door to door waking his neighbors and alerting them to the fire.

Shawna & Omarion were able to get out safely with their dog Dez, but are left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Their apartment and belongings are a total loss. Shawna is a caring, hardworking woman, raising her grandson on her own, but she needs help.

They are left with no household items, furniture, clothes, electronics or food. Everything we take for granted on a daily basis is now a struggle for them. If you are able to help, please donate or share this post to help this strong Grandmother and heroic young man get back on their feet.”

Let's all be hero's to this family and donate if you can. And if you see someone going our of their way to do something nice for someone else here in the Treasure Valley, let Mike and Nicole know by emailing...mikeandnicole@mix106radio.com
