This isn't news you hear everyday, but it has just been confirmed that the Idaho Lottery now officially holds a Guinness World Record. According to KTVB, the record is for the largest gathering of people who scratched official scratch cards.

The event took place on Friday, July 19th, and the Idaho lottery offered an official scratch attempt game where people got cards for the purpose of breaking the record. This was a big event and just part of the summer celebration because the Idaho Lottery is celebrating their 30th anniversary.

The total was 479 people scratching off their cards, while the previous record was held at just 386 people. The verification was made on the record on Tuesday. The state of Idaho is the first lottery to hold this Guinness World Record. Although, it wouldn't be shocking to see another state go after our title soon. No word on if anyone won big while at the world record event.
