Thanks to all of our 12 listeners for sharing their thoughts on the newest hottest thing in holiday illumination. The new Star Showers lights are what I decided to pull the trigger on and purchased some for myself.  Special thanks to Deb, for finding the lights at Walmart in Mt. Home, because all the other outlets I checked in Boise were sold out. Here are the results.

The video doesn't do the lights justice, but you get the general idea of what they look like.

I initially purchased 3 lights, but decided that they didn't quite cover my house very well, so with Deb's help once again, I purchased 2 more, for a total of five Star Showers lights.  These are lasers which means they will illuminate much farther away than a regular light.  I found the warning a little amusing too.  You are not allowed to shine them up into the air or at an airport. And of course it goes without saying, since the lights are a laser beam, that you shouldn't shine them at people's eyes, or your won eyes for that matter.

A cool side effect is that on all the windows that have blinds, including our master bedroom and our formal living room where we keep our Christmas tree, the laser shines through the blind to give a very cool Christmas light effect. Check out the pictures below, with the light on in the living room and with it turned off.

All in all, I spent about 5 hours less time this year putting up lights than ever before, so it's a win win for everybody.  Thanks to all the listeners who shared with me and helped make my decision a little easier, with a special thanks to our listener Deb, for purchasing for me.
