Fan Favorite Karaoke Spot Finally Reopening After Pandemic Shutdown

Karaoke and summertime go together like huckleberry and vodka. I don’t make the the rules, I just follow them. The pandemic put a hold on so much it was hard to find a karaoke spot last summer. It was only in the last couple months that things started really opening up, and karaoke made its triumphant return to all the bars that normally offered it. I had a particularly fun night channeling my inner Britney Spears at White Water Saloon.

But my favorite spot, Voicebox Karaoke has been closed since since late last year. It’s one thing to go to a bar that happens to have karaoke, but a complete other to have a place designated specifically for drunk belting out Mariah Carey with your friends. The entire goal is karaoke. The long wait is finally over. Voicebox is officially reopening June 25th.

I think the best part is that it’s private room karaoke. A lot of people aren't comfortable singing if it's in front of strangers, so this takes that anxiety away. And there’s no waiting for the table of 7 women to get through “Sweet Caroline” and “Don’t Stop Believing" before you finally get to grab the mic.  As for the song selection, it's all digital. You create your custom karaoke playlist online, no searching through a big clunky book. My only complaint is that the song selection could be broader. Plenty of Britney Spears hits, but “Slave 4 You” isn’t available. Tons of JLo, but “All I Have” featuring LL Cool J isn’t part of the catalog. Hopefully they’ll update. In any case, I'm looking forward to it.
