Don’t Let a Boise Veteran’s Grave Go Undecorated
The graves of Treasure Valley veterans will be decorated with wreaths again this December, and now is the time to do the planning to make sure no graves get skipped. Boise alone has 4800 graves to honor.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the graves of veterans at 1,400 cemeteries across the country are honored with beautiful green and red wreaths. It takes thousands of volunteers to do the work as part of the organized effort through Wreaths Across America, and if you want to become one of those volunteers we've got the info on how to sign up now.
Wreaths Across America has a “Giving in July” campaign going on now that gives us the chance to sponsor a wreath this December and at the same time help some groups that do good work to honor veterans all year long. Five dollars of each fifteen dollar contribution goes directly to the group that we choose, to help support their mission. The Gary Sinise Foundation is one of the choices, along with America's Mighty Warriors and several others.
There are several ways to help out in the Treasure Valley too, including sponsoring a veterans’ wreath at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, volunteering or donating to a local fundraising group. Click HERE to make that happen.

At last check, they had several people signed up to place wreaths as volunteers and they were less than twenty percent of the way to the sponsorship goal of decorating all 4,800 graves on December 15th.
