Charene the Adventure Queen: Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery

This was a cool find on the side of the road between Portland and Boise. The Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery on I-84.

I was trying to go to a waterfall but after it was closed due to too many people ( sounds about right). So about 25 minutes down the road is the big dam and fish hatchery which is home to a white sturgeon that you can view. This dam is on the Columbia River Gorge.

According to Wiki : The Bonneville Dam blocked the migration of white sturgeon to their upstream spawning areas. Sturgeon still spawn in the area below the dam and the lower Columbia River supports a healthy sturgeon population.
