Over the last few years there's been plenty of criticism that the popularity of online retail giants like Amazon is killing brick and mortar stores in the Treasure Valley.  However, when Amazon bought Whole Foods in 2017, it gave them a chance to literally shake hands with shoppers in Boise.

Now they're showing their appreciation for Prime subscribers by bringing the Prime Day celebration to our backyard! If you're a subscriber and you go spend $10 at Whole Foods any time between now and July 16, Amazon will credit your account with another $10 to spend between 1 a.m. MT on July 15 and 12:59 a.m. MT on July 18.

All you have to do to get the credit is make sure during your initial checkout that you open the Amazon app on your smart phone and have your cashier scan the QR code that shows up when you click the Whole Foods tab. I gave it a try when I went to grab lunch on Monday and it was extremely easy to do. I'm looking forward to an equally yummy free lunch when Prime Day arrives next week!

There are a few restrictions. Alcohol, gift cards, stamps and tax don't count toward the promotion.

Other Prime Day deals are already underway at Whole Foods this week.  While supplies last, prime subscribers can save on everything from organic fruits, sockeye salmon fillets and St. Louis Ribs to nut butters, reusable water bottles and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (two pints for $6!) You can see all the deals HERE!
