Anytime I want a quick immune boost I'll pop a combination of Vitamin C, Zinc, and garlic pills. There are lots of other more exciting ways to charge your immune system too, and these foods are easy adds to your daily routine.

I dated a chiropractor once who told me to take one Vitamin C pill, one zinc, and two garlic tablets several days in a row for an immune boost.  He also said taking that combination at the onset of a cold could lessen the severity, and based on my minimal experience with colds, I do think it works.  Of course, my dating life doesn't produce lasting scientific results for all of humanity, so you'll have to do your own research and ask your doctor to be sure.  I just know I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, and I haven't had a cold in years.

My daughters and I have been eating kiwis just about every day, and those are high in Vitamin C, which Healthline says can boost white blood cells to fight off infection.

Citrus fruits like grapefruit, oranges, tangerines, lemons, limes, and clementines are high in Vitamin C too.

Bell peppers are usually loaded with twice as much Vitamin C, and can really kick things up a notch.  Broccoli, garlic, spinach, and ginger can help boost immune systems too.

The health experts say we can't produce Vitamin C on our own, so we've got to eat it.  Oh, and we shouldn't go over the recommended daily amount of Zinc (11 mg for men and 8 mg for women) because that can have a reverse effect and actually inhibit the immune system.  I will tell my chiropractor friend.

I've noticed the more fresh fruits and veggies I eat, the more energy I have and the more my body feels bright and shiny, and I'm pushing the citrus on my kids at for meals and snacks too.  Especially now, every little bit helps.
