Yesterday's election saw Boise return Lauren McLean for a second term as mayor. The city also saw many of her City Council appointees retain their seats. While the turnout wasn't the same as in a general election, where we vote for National offices such as President, BoiseDev reports that voter turnout for this year's election fluctuated quite a bit depending on the city and district.

Ada County had a General Obligation Bond up for election to expand the Ada County Jail by 294 beds, add a warehouse, and expand the kitchen and laundry facilities. While it was close, the bond failed by only receiving 65.84% of the votes while needing 66.7% of the vote to pass.

In Canyon County, voters passed the $17.3 Million bond to build a new fire department and rebuild another. Middleton voted to allow the sale of drinks by the glass. Middleton also voted to continue the supplemental levies for teachers, maintenance, curriculum, transportation, and more for another two years in Districts 131 and 134.
