Your Memorial Day Weekend Hotel Stay Just Got Cheaper
Gas prices may be up, but cheaper hotels across Idaho might cancel out that extra expense. If you're hitting the road for Memorial Day weekend, enjoy this good news.
AAA said hotel prices are cheaper than they were in 2018, and car rental prices have declined 7% too, compared with last year. The average daily rate for car rentals is $55. Mid-range hotels are between 2% and 3% cheaper so far this year and the average nightly rate is between $146 and $183.
I checked on some Boise hotel rates, and we're quite a bit cheaper here. The Grove Hotel averages $138 per night and the Oxford Suites Boise was $119, but most of the others were under $100 per night. So invite your friends to come and visit you, and then kindly suggest they stay at one of Boise's affordable hotels instead of crashing in your couch.
Gas prices are up 30 cents compared to last year, according to Gasbuddy, so getting to a hotel may cost a little more. But once you're there you'll save a few bucks. AAA says 43 million Americans will travel for Memorial Day Weekend, and 37.6 million are traveling by car.
Wherever you go, have a blast, let the other guy merge for goodness sakes, and enjoy the cheaper hotel stay. Oh, and win some cash here before you go! We've got more of those code words all day long and you can knock out your travel expenses with one win. Good luck.
