You’ll Want To Swap Brunch For Tea At This Gorgeous Restaurant In Eagle
I’m the first person to suggest brunch as a daytime activity whenever someone throws out a “what should we do today?” And why not? The Treasure Valley is home to some amazing brunch spots. My favorite right now is Jak*s Neighborhood Grill. But brunch (which doesn’t qualify as brunch unless it involves alcohol) isn’t always a viable option. Sometimes you want to be sober! And even classy. Cue afternoon tea.
A Mean Girls fanatic, I live for “On Wednesdays we...” The quote is completed in the movie with “wear pink.” But now on Wednesdays we have tea. Afternoon tea at Chateau des Fleurs in Eagle.
The building is chic yet unassuming in its exterior, but as soon as you walk in you feel like you should have your back straight, shoulders back, and pinky up. The host leads you through the charming, elegant lobby into a gorgeous room draped in sunlight and exquisite decor to your assigned table for your afternoon tea to commence.
The experience consists of three parts: The actual tea, of which they have several options.
A salad and course with quiche or vegan option (which I had because vegan.)
And the tower of tea sandwiches and sweets, which can also be veganized.
There’s classical music playing the whole time. It feels super Bridgerton. And the vibe was the only good part of that show. I mean, even the bathroom is stunning.
10/10 recommend. You won't even miss the alcohol. You'll be too busy feeling fancy AF. Or you will, but just go to the bar after? Afternoon tea is only available on Wednesdays though and by reservation only, so you kind of need to plan ahead to make it in. Worth the wait though.
