Will Kohberger's murder trial disrupt Boise's peace?

Based off the circus caused by the Lori Vallow-Daybell trial, we don't see how it couldn't. Few things spark anarchy quite like a swarm of headline-hungry journalists.

Say the Daybell trial was off the table. Can you remember recent a high-profile murder trial that didn't send the national media and case chasers into a frenzy? We can't.

Local Traffic & Businesses

If Kohberger's trial is held in the Ada County Courthouse, it wouldn't be unreasonable for Boise-area residents to brace for the impact it could have on their daily routines.

Heightened security measures and heavier traffic in and around downtown Boise could cause significant disruptions and delays.

Fleshed out, high-profile trials are a draw for media crews, true crime fanatics, and legal professionals--three factors that could lead to increased congestion around the courthouse, scarce parking, and longer commute times for residents and businesses in the immediate area.

Straining Local Resources & Services

Hosting a high-profile trial at Ada County Courthouse could strain local resources and services. Courts, law enforcement, and emergency services might experience an uptick in workloads could divert attention from other community needs. In a worst-case scenario, this could look like lenthier wait and response times for public services.

So, while the downtown Boise courthouse is equipped to handle a wide range of cases, a high-profile trial like Kohberger’s could spur serious challenges for the community.
