Idaho's a treasure trove of wonder...

tucked away in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Had no clue? Don't beat yourself up, friend. Most folks have no idea Idaho's anything more than a field of potatoes.

Often overshadowed by its more famous neighboring cities like L.A., Seattle, Salt Lake, and Billings, Idaho rewards those who take the time to explore it with magnificent views and landscapes, friendly locals with welcoming hearts, and an index of activities that cater to every kind of adventurer.

From the jagged peaks of the Sawtooth Mountains to the sparkling waters of Lake Coeur d'Alene, the Gem State boasts a wide range of outdoor experiences that make it a paradise for nature lovers. Hiking, biking, skiing, jet boating down the Salmon River, ziplining, fishing, bouldering, cave diving—Idaho has it all!

Festivals & Fun Times

When it comes to celebrations, Idaho doesn't hold back. The state hosts a number of cool festivals and rodeos year-round that showcase its unique cultural heritage, values, and love of fun. For example, the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Ketchum is a special event honoring the region's sheep ranching history with parades, wool crafts, wares, and mouthwatering lamb dishes.

Boise's Treefort Music Fest is another one-of-a-kind highlight. It attracts musicians, eclectic businesses, and fans nationwide for a five-day music extravaganza. It's a spot-on example of Idaho's lively spirit.

Fact: people of the world owe their Netflix binges to an Idahoan.

Sure, Idaho is famous for its potatoes, but there's so much more to this state than spuds!

Did you know the TV owes its existence to Idaho? Yep, that's right! Philo Farnsworth was the inventive genius from Rigby, Idaho that gave the world the "boob tube" we binge-watch our favorite shows on today.

Thanks to his genius, our Saturday nights are filled with Netflix marathons and endless channel surfing to distract us from the woes of adulting. So, next time you're glued to the TV, remember it was an Idahoan that made your couch potato dreams come true.
