Two Former Broncos Will Be on Opposite Teams in the Super Bowl
If you're kinda so-so on this year's Super Bowl LII match-up, at least there's this. Two former Boise State Broncos get to play in the big game, and one of them will win a ring.
Jay Ajayi was excited on Sunday night @Jaytrain, and who wouldn't be with that mission accomplished. He tweeted, "GOD IS GREAT!!!!" after the Eagles beat the Vikings in the NFC Championship game, and the dream of reaching the Super Bowl came true for every guy on that team.
At the beginning of the season, Ajayi was a Miami Dolphin, and now he's part of the NFC champ Philadelphia Eagles and he gets a shot at a world championship. That's some pretty awesome luck, but if he wasn't so darned good, that "luck" might not have happened. He's fun to watch, and he got his football pedigree started at Boise State from 2012 through 2014.
Patriots linebacker Shea McClellin played for Boise State from 2008 to 2011, and became the second-highest draft pick in school history when the Chicago Bears acquired him in 2012. Things just keep going well for Shea, and he's headed to the Super Bowl for the second straight year.
Note to self. As you're complaining about New England hogging wins and getting to the Super Bowl AGAIN and not giving other teams a chance, remember that you love Boise State and there's a Caldwell boy on that team. Go Shea, go!
The Eagles and Patriots kick off February 4th at 4:30pm Mountain and we'd be gathered around the TV no matter who's playing, but it'll be more fun cheering for familiar faces.
So pick a favorite -- Ajayi or McClellin? Both will pair well with festive beverages, various rolled up bite-sized sandwiches, wings, and a whole lot of chips. This will be fun.
