Earlier this year I was able to join the tremendous team at Meridian Canine Rescue to help with their 'Through Their Eyes' event. The whole event is to show people what it is like to be a shelter dog, even if it's for just one day.

Volunteers are matched up with dogs that are currently up for adoption and for 24 hours the volunteers do exactly what the animals do. They are only allowed out of the kennel when it is a bathroom break or if a family is visiting with the dog for a possible adoption.

Being a big supporter of animals I was truly touched by my experience earlier this year and hope to link up with my friends at MCR to jump into a kennel again to raise more funds for their operation. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and volunteers that put in countless hours each week to take such good care of these animals.

The event this week is from 6 p.m. on Friday, July 26th through 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th. The teams this time around are:

You can click on each individual team to see a picture of the team or make a donation. If you can stop by Meridian Canine Rescue on Saturday to give support and see the adoptable family members I would highly suggest it!
