There are so many cool continued education classes here in Boise. I recently went to a Tasty and Trendy Foods class in Boise and it was really interesting and I wanted to share some things I learned.

I wasn't sure what to expect but I know these types of classes are not always packed because there are so many options. To start we went through some trendy fruits, where I learned that smaller mangos are better than the big ones, so when picking one out, go for the smaller ones. Another great tip that I received was to wait to wash fruit till right before you eat it cause it can mold a lot faster. Now parents if you have kids that just dive in and eat them maybe wash them right away but in that case, you may not be having to worry about them molding cause they are gone right away.

Another fun fact is that an Ugli Fruit is a cross between a grapefruit, orange, and a tangerine! The next thing we concurred was vegetables and I was really surprised some of the up and coming popular vegetables. Boc-Choy and Fennel Bulb were a couple.

The Ancient Grains was interesting, things like Spelt berries,

The main stuff we tried was :

  • Jackfruit
  • Cactus
  • Ancient Grains
