Poorest and Richest Cities in Idaho
The great economical divide. Idaho is home to many rich people and plenty of people who are barely getting by. These two cities have been deemed the richest and the poorest in Idaho.
Msn.com recently conducted a study that has deemed Bonners Ferry as the poorest city in the state. The median household income is just $31, 619 compared to the states median income of $53, 089. With a poverty rate of 22.4% and a median home value of just $155, 800 it's pretty easy to see why they've been named the poorest in Idaho.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, a city I personally have never heard of takes the top spot. Dalton Gardens has a median household income at $71, 111with just a 3.6% poverty rate. The average home in Dalton Gardens is $364, 600. If you are like me and have no idea where Dalton Gardens it's north of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and across the border from Spokane, Washington.
There you have it! I always find it interesting to see what the average person makes in different areas and the prices of homes, so hopefully you found this as intriguing as I did. For me it was more confirmation that I'm as middle of the road as they come!
