VELMA MORRISON

Given her enduring legacy in Boise, we just assumed Velma Morrison had been awarded a key to the city. After extensive Googling, we're stunned (or just severely mistaken) not to find a reference to the occasion.

In case we're not wrong and Velma wasn't made an honorary key holder to Boise, we're prepared to make a case for her candidacy.

A KEY FOR V.

Velma Morrison was a philanthropic force that shaped Boise State University's cultural landscape. Fulfilling her late husband Harry Morrison's vision, she spearheaded the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts in 1984, embodying their shared dreams. Boise State recognized Velma's contributions with the 1984 Silver Medallion, the school's highest service accolade.

Her impact also earned her an honorary lifetime Boise State University Foundation membership in 2004 and a 2010 honorary doctorate! Beyond BSU, Velma's generosity, routed through the Harry W. Morrison Foundation, gifted Idaho the World Center for Birds of Prey in Idaho.
