Looking for an adventure you will be talking about for years to come? If you love wine, amazing food and white knuckle adrenaline fun, then this trip is for you! I originally found out about the rafting, wine and food trips from Ray Isle with Food & Wine in his article narrating his first hand experience, 'How to Pair Wine with Whitewater Rafting'.

In the article Ray explained that the Granite Rapids on the Snake River generally are  Class IV rapid, but occasionally, as Ray says when the river is high, it reaches Class V. So these rapids are not something to take lightly. If you want to do this incredible trip be ready for a rocky, wet ride. After the ride an award winning chef will wine and dine you in stunning and secluded scenery.

People travel from all over to take part in this incredible excursion. Andrae Bopp, the owner of Andrae’s Kitchen in Walla Walla, Washington partnered with Grant Richie, co-owner of white water outfitters Minam Store a few years back to offer the “Wine & Food on the River” excursions. Andrae not only is the chef for the trips but is also a rafter enthusiast and guides one of the rafts himself.

If you want in on this, it is looking like you may have to wait until next summer. Here are the upcoming trips scheduled for this year as found on the Minam Store website and it looks like they are currently all full. Hopefully they add more for this year or we can get a head start and make reservations early next year. :)
