Pretty scary situation in Mountain Home this morning, but luckily it looks like authorities are taking all of the necessary precautions to keep our students and faculty members safe at area schools after a violent threat.

It started with an e-mail threatening violence scheduled to occur today, Thursday, December 13th.

As a result, Bennett Mountain High School and Hacker Middle School have closed their doors today. The schools share the same campus, but the threat was directed towards the High School.

Other schools in the district will hold classes, but the schools will be in lockdown mode, including Mountain Home High School.

It looks like everything is being done to assure safety. According to idahonews.com there will be an extra police presence, teachers will patrol the hallways as students pass from class to class, classroom doors will remain locked, and any student who needs to leave the classroom will have an escort from the front office.

We'll keep you updated as this story develops. I just appreciate all of the precautionary measures that are taking place.
