‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ Trailer Makes Its First TV Appearance [VIDEO]
While it hasn't even been a full year yet, it definitely feels like forever since 'Catching Fire' came out. That means we've been itching for the next installation in the Hunger Games movie-sphere -- especially considering the cliff hanger the last one left us with! Even though readers of the book franchise know exactly what's to come in the next two movies, there's nothing quite like seeing it play out on the big screen -- especially when the movies wind up doing the books justice like these have.
The trailer (posted above) is the first television spot for a 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' trailer, and it looks awesome. Once you get past the overt Doritos product placement that eats up seven seconds of trailer time, the clip immediately dives into that ominous feeling that something isn't quite right. We see a video message from Peeta that is being broadcast by the Capitol, where he implores anyone watching to stop fighting. Readers of the book series know this is an attempt from the Capitol to end the uprising occurring within the Districts, and that Peeta has been brainwashed.
It's a bittersweet moment for Katniss, as she looks up at the image of Peeta and whispers almost inaudibly, "You're alive." That's the good news. The bad news is he's been captured by the Capitol, and once the next clip of a battered and bruised Peeta appears onscreen, it can be inferred that the breadmaker hasn't had it easy. There's also an annoyed Gale hovering in the background, undoubtedly put there to remind viewers that the love triangle remains strong with this movie.
We're beyond excited for 'Mockingjay: Part One' to come out -- we just wish we didn't have to wait until Nov. 21 to see it!
