Join the Suicide Prevention Walk in Boise
The Idaho chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is hosting the Treasure Valley Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, September 30.
If you haven't heard the powerful suicide prevention anthem by Logic called 1-800-273-8255, you can watch the performance at the MTV VMA's with Alessia Cara and Khalid below. The stages were lined with survivors. It was moving, emotional, and something that is finally being talked about. Mental health resources and conversation is seriously lacking in our country and I'm so glad that we are finally moving in the right direction.
If you want to get involved locally, the Walk to Prevent Suicide is a great start!
The walk will raise awareness and funds for the AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate, and support survivors and families of suicide loss.
The walk is Saturday, September 30 at Julius Kleiner Memorial Park in Meridian. Check-in and "day of" registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
