How To Help Idaho First Responder Killed In Off-Duty Accident
As we're all aware, our first responders enter their jobs every day unaware of what threats they might face. For some, it's entering a dangerous situation to save someone on the verge of passing away... for others, it might be taking down a deadly threat that could harm others.
When these heroes do get a day off, they deserve to enjoy it to the fullest - and why not? They're sacrificing their well-being every day.
A Fallen Hero Needs Our Help
Sadly, a Treasure Valley hero was off-duty when tragedy struck.
Over the weekend, local media outlets broke the news that an Ada County paramedic was killed in a fatal head-on collision while off-duty on January 4. According to multiple sources, the accident happened at mile marker 14 on US20 in Canyon County.
We were contacted by a fellow paramedic who shared the family's GoFundMe information.
"A devoted husband, father, and Ada County paramedic, tragically lost his life in a car accident less than a mile from his home," loved ones shared on the GoFundMe page.
The fallen paramedic leaves behind a wife and three small children.
While the family is asking for the public's generosity during this difficult time, they're also warning people who'd like to donate about disgusting behavior from strangers.
"BEWARE A FAKE ACCOUNT TO LOOK LIKE HERS HAS BEEN MADE," the GoFundMe warns.
"Please pay attention to spelling and her's DOES NOT have a photo."
If you do decide to support the family, make sure that your contribution is going to the right place. You can learn more about how to help with their GoFundMe page HERE.
