These Are The Ten Most Affordable Cities In Idaho
Housing costs continue to rise throughout the state, especially in places like Boise and Coeur d'Alene. It's no secret that folks from California have been rolling into Idaho, driving up demand for homes and sending prices soaring. Yet, compared to our West Coast neighbors, we're still getting a steal of a deal on real estate. Places like California, Washington, and Oregon are significantly more expensive than Idaho.
What sets us apart is our tax situation. Idaho boasts some of the lowest state income tax rates in the U.S. That means more of our hard-earned money stays in our own pockets. With that extra cash, we can enjoy our outdoor adventures or whatever other hobbies we want.
Idaho is no longer the hidden gem it once was and will never be again, so we have to find the good in all of this change. The truth is, by comparison, Idaho is still one of the more affordable places to live.
While Boise and Couer d'Alene may be rocketing out of our price range, there are still plenty of places in Idaho that are very affordable. They don't all rank high on the "livability scale," but they are cheaper. If you are okay with moving out of the city, you can do well in the cost of living department.
